Investment
Therapy is both an emotional and financial investment, so it’s important to feel comfortable and confident in the therapist you choose. The work we do together doesn’t end when our sessions do—it’s something you can carry with you and continue to build on throughout your life. Taking this step is a meaningful way to invest in yourself and the changes you want to make.
Initial sessions are $200, and all follow-up sessions are $180. I also charge for parent and collateral communication or phone calls. Please reach out to inquire about comprehensive evaluation fees.
For individuals involved in the legal process requiring my involvement, I charge a higher fee. Please contact me for more details.
Insurance
I do not accept insurance. Clients pay at the time of their appointment. I can provide you with a superbill upon request if you would like to submit for possible Out-of-Network Coverage (OON) reimbursement. Please check with your insurance carrier to determine whether you have OON benefits, and what the OON benefit policies are. Individuals who are seeking reimbursement are required to submit, and manage correspondence regarding, the superbill with their insurance carrier. Companies such as Reimbursify can help with OON coverage and get money back from your insurance company for a small fee per claim.
Common billing codes used in the course of treatment are 90791 for the intake and 90834 for a standard individual session.
Questions to ask your insurance company
1
Does my plan include out-of-network (OON) coverage for mental health? What about for telehealth visits?
2
Do I have a deductible for OON mental health services? If yes, what is the remaining amount I have to pay before my health plan starts to reimburse me for fees that I pay out-of-pocket?
3
What is the maximum reimbursement for mental health service code 90834 with a psychotherapist? If unclear, ask: “What is the maximum allowed amount for code 90834, and what percentage does my plan cover?” (This percentage determines your reimbursement).
4
What is my co-insurance percentage for mental health services?
5
Is there a limit on how many sessions my plan will cover each year?
6
Is this coverage applicable before or after I meet my deductible?
